Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced MEP Modeller with 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and coordinating 3D models for the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems in building projects. This position requires a strong understanding of MEP systems, proficiency in relevant BIM software (Revit, AutoCAD, etc.), and the ability to collaborate closely with project teams to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems into the overall building design.
Key Responsibilities:
- MEP Model Creation & Coordination:
- Develop accurate 3D MEP models using Revit or other relevant software.
- Coordinate with other disciplines (architectural, structural, and civil) to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems into the overall project design.
- Produce MEP system layouts, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical components, ensuring they are compliant with building codes and regulations.
- Clash Detection & Resolution:
- Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts between MEP systems and other building components (e.g., structural elements, architectural features).
- Collaborate with the project team to find solutions for any design or system conflicts.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Generate detailed MEP drawings, including floor plans, sections, and elevations, from the BIM model.
- Assist in creating construction documentation, schedules, and material take-offs based on the MEP model.
- Maintain up-to-date project records and ensure accurate documentation of MEP design changes.
- Quality Control & Compliance:
- Review MEP models and drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Ensure the MEP design aligns with local building codes, regulations, and project specifications.
- Assist in ensuring the MEP models meet the project’s sustainability and energy efficiency goals.
- Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Work closely with architects, engineers, and other team members to ensure proper coordination and integration of MEP systems in the overall design.
- Participate in project meetings and design reviews to present MEP design solutions, challenges, and updates.
- Provide support and guidance to junior team members or other departments on MEP modeling best practices.
- Model Updates & Revisions:
- Regularly update the MEP model to reflect changes in design, client requirements, or project specifications.
- Coordinate with the design team to incorporate revisions and ensure the model remains accurate throughout the project lifecycle.
- Software Management & Training:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest BIM software tools, techniques, and industry best practices.
- Provide support and training to team members regarding MEP modeling standards and software usage.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in MEP modeling using BIM software (preferably Revit, AutoCAD, or similar platforms).
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Revit (MEP module) or AutoCAD MEP.
- Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection software (e.g., Navisworks).
- Familiarity with building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical design.
- Knowledge of MEP design principles, building codes, and regulations.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems and how they integrate with architectural and structural designs.
